Kaizer Chiefs have announced that head coach Nasreddine Nabi will miss the club’s opening fixture of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season against Stellenbosch FC this Sunday in Cape Town.

The decision follows a serious accident involving Coach Nabi’s wife at their home in Tunisia. The coach will travel there this evening to be with his family and will return to South Africa once the situation has stabilised.

In preparation for the match, Coach Nabi has already held discussions with his technical team. In his absence, first assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef and second assistant coach Cedric Kaze will take charge from the bench.

The club expressed its support for Nabi during this difficult time, extending best wishes to him and his family. Chiefs also called on supporters to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
