Orbit College FC has issued a formal apology following controversial remarks made by
head coach Pogiso Makhoye about winger Monnapule Saleng. The club acknowledged
the concerns raised by supporters, stakeholders, and the wider football community after
the coach’s comments sparked backlash on social media last week.

In a statement, the club expressed regret for the distress caused, reaffirming its
commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment. “Monnapule Saleng is a
valued member of our team, and we deeply regret any impression that his contributions
have been undervalued,” the club said.

Orbit College FC stressed the importance of careful communication to avoid
misinterpretation and pledged to ensure greater thoughtfulness in future public
statements. The club emphasised its dedication to unity, respect, and constructive
dialogue as guiding principles.

Discussions with all involved parties, including Saleng are underway to resolve the
matter internally and maintain focus on shared goals. “We ask for your understanding
and continued support as we work to strengthen our team and uphold the values that
define Orbit College FC,” the statement concluded.

Saleng joined Orbit College on a loan to spend 2025/26 season at the newly promoted club to South Africa’s First Division League. However, he is prohibited to play against Orlando Pirates as per the loan agreement.
