ActionSA Gauteng Provincial Chairperson, Funzi Ngobeni has outlined that ActionSA will not vote in the motion of no confidence brought by the Democratic Alliance (DA) against the City of Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero. The motion of no confidence is set for Wednesday, June 25.
Morereo has approximately ten months in office, yet the DA is pulling a motion of no confidence against him. The party seems to be unsatisfied with Morero’s leadership, including the abstaining ActionSa.
Funzi told the media ahead of the Wednesday council meeting that the City of Johannesburg does not need Morero. But they are going to support the DA’s motion of no confidence. “Equally we are not going to support the DA in their games. Because we know they are not serious about this motion,” said Funzi.

ActionSA and the African National Congress (ANC) are allies in the City of Johannesburg, Government of National Unity GNU. The Chairperson further emphasised that they would attend the council session to hold their arms when it comes to Morero.”If he survives, it is good for them, but we will continue to hold them accountable (ANC),” said Funzi.
The ANC is leading the coalition in the City of Johannesburg holding 142 seats which is enough to maintain Morereo’s position. Although, under his leadership the city has dilapidated with a collapsed service delivery.
