Orlando Pirates have made another major statement in the transfer market by securing the signature of highly rated midfielder Oswin Appollis from Polokwane City. The 23-year-old, long linked with the Soweto giants, adds further strength to a squad already bolstered by the arrivals of Sipho Mbule, Sinoxolo Kwayiba, and Tshepang Moremi.

Following a second-place finish behind Mamelodi Sundowns last season, the Buccaneers have moved swiftly to address their lack of depth. Appollis, known for his versatility and creativity, is expected to form an exciting midfield trio alongside Relebohile Mofokeng and Mohau Nkota. His signing, reportedly ahead of rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns, signals Pirates’ intent to build a team for both immediate success and long-term dominance.

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC has also strengthened by signing Muzomuhle Khanyi from Hungry Lions. The 26-year-old striker, top scorer in the 2024–25 Motsepe Foundation Championship with 18 goals, is eager to prove himself in the top flight. “I am here to learn and grow,” said Khanyi, calling the move one of the best decisions of his career.

Both clubs look set for competitive campaigns as the new season approaches.
