Black Coffee celebrates another milestone after buying South Africa’s most expensive home

South African DJ and producer Black Coffee has bought Cape Town’s most expensive house, The Pentagon, for R157 million. The house is located on Nettleton Road in Clifton, which is one of South Africa’s most exclusive neighborhoods. The purchase was made through Little Ark Holdings, a company in which Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, is the only director.
The deal comes only a week after his divorce from actress Enhle Mbali was finalized. It caused excitement across the country, with supporters celebrating Black Coffee’s rise from humble beginnings to become one of Africa’s most successful artist and businessman.
The Pentagon at 5 Nettleton Road sold recently for R160 million. The mansion eventually sold for R157 million, making it the most expensive residential transaction in South Africa this year. Public documents show that the property is owned by Black Coffee’s company, Little Ark Holdings. His publicist said that he prefers to keep his private and business lives private.
Nettleton Road is well-known for its spectacular coastal vistas and multimillion-dollar houses, which attract the rich and famous. Black Coffee’s purchase of property there has elevated him to the ranks of South Africa’s affluent elite, confirming his accomplishment outside of music.
The Pentagon is a 940-square-metre modern mansion created by renowned architect Stefan Antoni. It is situated high above Clifton, with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Twelve Apostles mountains.
The property includes five en-suite bedrooms, each with its own balcony. The floors are connected by a glass elevator, which also houses a private theater, gym, and staff quarters. The residence has space for five automobiles and excellent temperature control for comfort.
