China has taken action against the US over President Trump’s tariff increase

China has taken action against the US over President Trump’s tariff increase, filing a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization (WTO). This move comes after Trump imposed new tariffs on Chinese goods, citing concerns over China’s failure to stem the flow of migrants and illegal drugs into the US.

China’s Ministry of Commerce has expressed strong dissatisfaction with Washington’s action, stating that it “seriously violates” WTO rules. Beijing plans to take countermeasures to protect its rights and interests, including filing a formal complaint with the WTO.

This development has sparked concerns about a potential trade war between the US and China. China’s Foreign Affairs Ministry has warned that trade and tariff wars have no winners and that this move could harm cooperation between the two countries on counternarcotics efforts.
