Chippa United are on the verge of securing the signature of former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Harold Majadibodu. The 30-year-old is set to join the club on a free transfer following his departure from University of Pretoria FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Majadibodu has already arrived in Gqeberha, with the deal expected to be finalised soon. The defender had previously trained with Chippa during pre-season, but an earlier move fell through at the final stages.

Fresh from national duty, Majadibodu featured for Bafana Bafana in the CHAN tournament held across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, clocking over 100 minutes of play. His experience is seen as a boost for Chippa, who face Richards Bay on Tuesday in a crucial clash between two sides still searching for their first win of the season.

The club hopes Majadibodu’s arrival will provide stability at the back as they look to turn their campaign around.
