From netball courts to headlines: Kamo Moth’s rise in entertainment

Kamo Moth, a SAFTA-nominated TV presenter, radio broadcaster, actor, and content developer, stands out in the entertainment business for her flexibility and determination. Her path began on a netball court in Bloemfontein, where the thrill of performing in front of a large crowd fueled her desire to entertain.

From her early days at CUT FM to her appearances on national television and major radio stations, Kamo has developed a career marked by dedication, an infectious personality, and an undying love of media. She has established herself as one of South Africa’s most exciting talents via unwavering hard work, consistency, and taking advantage of every chance.

What began as a passion for the game of netball has evolved into a thriving career in entertainment. As people gathered to cheer during matches, Kamo’s passion for performance was sparked, pushing her on a journey that has elevated her to the status of one of South Africa’s most dynamic media personalities. 

Kamo has become a well-known face and voice in South Africa. She is a SAFTA-nominated presenter for SABC 1’s popular TV show Heavy Hitters and presently co-hosts The Midday Exchange on 919 FM. Her profession also includes acting, content development, and event hosting, making her a versatile performer whose talent and dedication continue to propel her ahead.

Her breakthrough came at CUT FM, where her energy and sensual charisma swiftly established her as one of Bloemfontein’s most recognized socialites. She later gained national recognition as the entertainment expert on Massive Metro’s The DJ Sbu Breakfast Show, where she also served as assistant producer. Kamo went on to act as a stand-in presenter on MTV Base Newsish, then co-hosted Soweto TV’s breakfast show The Take Off with Tbo Touch before becoming the primary host.

Her radio career flourished when she co-presented and produced Massive Mornings with Penny Lebyane and hosted Uncut, a midweek entertainment show. She has also been a member of 947, working on Mo Flava’s show and joining the Suzuki Amped Squad, as well as producing famous shows including The Lunch League on YFM and You With The Boys on You FM.
Beyond radio and television, Kamo has an excellent acting resume, having been in Mzansi Magic’s Bo Chomi (2020), Bo Mma (2021), Ubettina Wethu (SABC1), Six in the City (Netflix), and Dulas (EVOD).

Kamo’s presence extends beyond the television, as she has MC’d renowned events such as the A&M Foundation’s charity events, Miss Teen SESA, and Mrs South Africa 2017 Nicole Capper’s Dine for Cancer Gala. She also aired her own podcast, Girl Uncensored, on Touch HD, which demonstrated her versatility as a content provider. 

Today, Kamo Moth is a multi-talented dynamo that exudes perseverance, charm, and an unwavering love for the entertainment business. From the netball court to national radio and television, she has demonstrated that with determination, creativity, and effort, ambitions can become long-term successes.
