Musician and television personality Jub Jub has publicly responded to accusations made by singer Kelly Khumalo, who recently labelled him a “deadbeat father.”

The controversy resurfaced after Khumalo’s remarks about Jub Jub’s alleged absence from their son’s life began circulating on social media, sparking renewed debate among fans.

In a video shared on his social media accounts, Jub Jub addressed the claims directly, urging the public not to judge the matter based on “one side of the story.” He insisted that he has continuously tried to be part of his child’s upbringing despite facing what he described as “unnecessary obstacles.”

“I love my son and I have always wanted to be present in his life. It is sad when personal matters are turned into public battles,” Jub Jub said.

The Ndikhokhele hitmaker also appealed to Khumalo to stop mentioning his name in interviews and podcasts, saying it adds unnecessary fuel to their long-standing tension.

He acknowledged having made mistakes in the past but denied being an uninvolved parent. Jub Jub further claimed that even during his time in prison, he supported his son by sending gifts.

“Please do not make me look like a deadbeat father. I am alive, I am kicking, and I want Christian he is my son,” he added.

Kelly Khumalo has not yet issued a response to Jub Jub’s latest remarks. The two, who share a son named Christian, have had a strained relationship since their highly publicized breakup more than a decade ago.

Their ongoing dispute continues to spotlight the difficulties of co-parenting under public scrutiny, where private family matters often become topics of national conversation.
