Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the departure of defender Bongani Sam after
just one season with the club. The decision was described as amicable, signaling a
mutual agreement between the player and the club.

Sam, a Gqeberha-born footballer, joined Amakhosi in July 2024 after making the move
from Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates. Despite high expectations, his time with the
Glamour Boys was short-lived.

In a brief statement, the club extended its best wishes to Sam in his future endeavors,
thanking him for his contributions during his stint at Naturena.

While no further details were provided regarding the reasons behind the exit, the move
underscores Kaizer Chiefs’ ongoing efforts to reshape their squad ahead of the
upcoming season.
