It is about to become the biggest moment in the history of Amapiano. The much-anticipated Kings Will Rise: Scorpion Kings Live with Friends show at Loftus Versfeld Stadium is set to be one of the biggest shows in Mzansi. Hosted by the iconic Amapiano duo DJ Maphorisa and Kabza Da Small, the show is set to be one for the history books with a wide range of a lineup, including Sjava, MaWhoo, Young Stunna, Kwesta, Nobantu Vilakazi, Mlindo and Uhuru, which is the band that Dj Maphorisa started out with.
Stretching out an extra mile to give their audience an unforgettable experience, the duo has featured Nigerian superstar Davido as a special international guest appearance and has added an honorary moment for one of South Africa’s music legends Caiphus Semenya, recognizing his immense contributions to the industry.
Popularly known as Scorpion Kings, Kabelo Motha (Kabza Da Small) and Themba Sekowe (Dj Maphorisa) began their musical production partnership in July 2019. This duo took over the Amapiano genre by storm following the release of their joint album Scorpion Kings, which shaped Amapiano both locally and internationally. This event taking place on August 29 is more than just a show.

Proudly partnering with Betway and the Betway Cares Foundation the Kings of Amapiano are going beyond entertainment, dedicating an internship programme “100 Lives Initiative” to hundred young people to be a part of this massive event in order to gain hands-on experience, skills training, and access to bursary opportunities.
Speaking to YanoLyrics, Maphorisa emphasized his gratitude to be sharing the stage with some of South Africa’s renowned musicians, “This is proof of how far I have come and grown as an artist. I feel blessed and humbled,” he said. With a sold-out crowd expected, this might be one of the biggest shows in the history of South African music performances.
