The family of the late Deputy President David “DD” Mabuza is embroiled in a legal dispute over his R44.7-million pension payout following his sudden passing on 3 July 2025.
Mabuza’s daughter, Tamara Silinda, has filed an urgent application in the High Court seeking to block Alexander Forbes from paying the full pension benefit to his wife, Nonhlanhla Patience Mnisi.
In her affidavit, Tamara argues that her mother, Emunah Silinda, was also married to the late statesman under customary law.
She further contends that she is financially dependent on the payout, saying her father had consistently supported her with school fees, accommodation, and a monthly allowance during his lifetime.
The matter is expected to be heard in court next Tuesday.
