Malema accuses Polokwane Mayor in child shooting demands accountability

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Commander in Chief, Julius Sello Malema addressing at Siyabonga Rally in Seshego on Saturday, August 16. This follows the ward 13 claiming victory in the by-elections.

He claimed that the Polokwane Executive Mayor John Mpe, was involved in the shooting of a nine-year-old girl in a violent clash between Africa National Congress (ANC) and EFF support in Juju Valley on May 19, 2024.

“The ANC must know we know they shot a child in Juju Valey, till today they were not arrested. John Mpe’s gun was tested positive that it also shot at Juju Valley till today he was not arrested, ” said MalemaHe also emphasized that Mpe has political connections.

“He must be arrested to account what was his gun doing at the event… As a mayor, he does not have a right to shoot people,” he stated.

Malema promises that he will consultation Limpopo National Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe to make a follow-up on the matter factoring the mayor. With reports that Polokwane Municipality hires foreign nationals, especially Zimbabweans.

Malema asked people of Seshego to stand for themselves. “We do not deny Zimbabweans to find jobs. But they should get them from their municipaties in Harare,” spoke Malema emphasizing that people of Polokwane must work for Polokwane Municipality.
