Malema demands Lt Gen Mkhwanazi appear before Ad Hoc Committee

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) President, Julius Malema has called for Kwa-Zulu Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi to be summoned to appear before the Ad Hoc Committee.
The currently investigating of serious allegations, he made during a recent parliamentary briefing. Malema argued that the gravity of Mkhwanazi’s claims which have sparked national debate, that demands full accountability and transparency.
“If Lieutenant General Mkhwanazi has nothing to hide, he must come and account to the people of South Africa through Parliament,” said Malema.
The Ad Hoc Committee was established to investigate the allegations, which include accusations of political interference in police operations.
Mkhwanazi, made headlines for his explosive comments implicating high-ranking officials. Parliament has not yet confirmed whether Mkhwanazi will be summoned.
