Rising Amapiano sensation Mgiftoz has paid tribute to Mamelodi Sundowns star striker Peter Shalulile by dedicating a forthcoming single to the Namibian forward. The release follows Shalulile’s remarkable milestone earlier this month, when he scored his 130th goal in South African club football. With that achievement, he surpassed former Bafana Bafana striker Siyabonga Nomvethe, who held the long-standing record of 129 Premier Soccer League goals.

Shalulile secured the record on 1 September during Sundowns’ 1-0 victory over Stellenbosch FC in Cape Town. The goal not only delivered three crucial points for his club but also cemented his place among the most prolific strikers in the history of South African football.

For Mgiftoz, this is not the first time he has shown admiration for Masandawana. Just two months ago, the “Skeem Sam” hitmaker released The Sundowns Song (Ama Sundawana), a collaborative track featuring Nt Soul, Mlwazino, and Leo Deep. The song resonated with both football and music fans, further strengthening the connection between the team’s success and South Africa’s vibrant music scene.

The artist has since been teasing his latest Shalulile-inspired project across social media platforms, generating significant anticipation. The single is reportedly scheduled for release on 10 October. Fans expect it to celebrate Shalulile’s record-breaking form and highlight his goal-scoring consistency, while also blending two cultural cornerstones  football and Amapiano.

By dedicating this track to Shalulile, Mgiftoz not only acknowledges the striker’s impact on the pitch but also underscores how music and sport continue to inspire one another within South African culture. With both the player and the musician riding high on their respective successes, the forthcoming release promises to be a celebration of excellence and unity.
