Miss SA 2025 postponed in order to “align with global events”

The month of August is known to be the national month that celebrates women,
and in South Africa, a new Miss South Africa (SA) is crowned annually. However,
the ceremony will be slightly different this year.
An official statement was released by the official Miss SA stating a postponement
due to ensuring greater alignment with international and other global events. The
statement revealed that the organization aims to broaden the reach and impact
of the pageant and its contestants, and will be expanded to include
entrepreneurship, job creation, cultural awareness and social cohesion.
There have been a number of times when concerns have been raised about the
prolonged top 30 contestants. Sharing with TimesLIVE, the organisation said that
the organisers of the Miss South Africa contest are making good progress with the
preparations for the contest, which will be a huge success.
A lot of questions have been raised about the postponement of the ceremony,
with some linking it to the resignation of the pageant’s CEO, Stephanie Weil, who
said her last goodbyes earlier this month. Additionally, the pageant will not be
participating in this year’s Miss Supranational 2025 international competition,
which was set for June in Poland.
A new date for the pageant has not yet been confirmed but further
announcements are soon to be made.
