Thando “Thabooty” Thabethe Honoured as Glamour’s MostGlamorous Media Personality of 2025

From award-winning acting to commanding the airwaves, Thando “Thabooty” Thabethe
continues to prove there are no limits to her talent. Recently recognized by Glamour
South Africa, the 35-year-old media powerhouse, was honoured at a stylish celebration
hosted in partnership with Vaseline at the luxurious Langham Hotel in Johannesburg.
The event paid tribute to South African women who epitomize fashion, style, glamour,
and confidence, and Thabethe was the standout star, taking home the Most Glamorous
Media Personality Award for 2025.

“It feels good to be recognized. This award is a reminder that it is important to look good while working hard towards your dreams. A shoutout to my mom, the most glamorous woman I know, who continues to inspire me. This is an ode to all the women who make even the hardest moments look glamorous,” Thabethe shared during her acceptance.

With a remarkable 17-year career in radio, Thabethe currently hosts the popular 947 Drive with Thando alongside Matthew Malcolm. Her journey began humbly at the University of Johannesburg’s UJFM as a newsreader before she transitioned into DJing, a move that would spark a dynamic career across leading stations like YFM and 5FM. Beyond the mic and camera, Thabethe is also the founder of the shapewear line Thabooty and is a regular on philanthropic fronts, using her platform to support various
donation and outreach efforts.

In 2019, her influence and entrepreneurial spirit earned her a spot on Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30 list. Now nearly two decades into her career, Thando Thabethe continues to blaze a trail with style, substance, and unmatched glamour.
