Chinese President  Xi Jinping is set to visit Pakistan for the official launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Phase-II. A major milestone in bilateral relations and regional connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The visit is expected to deepen strategic, political, and economic ties between the two nations while reaffirming China’s commitment to Pakistan’s development and infrastructure growth. The date for Jinping’s visit has not yet been confirmed, but the agenda is set.

CPEC, one of the flagship projects of the Belt and Road Initiative, has already transformed Pakistan’s energy and infrastructure landscape through Phase-II. Which is focused on power projects, highways, and Gwadar Port development.

Phase-II of CPEC is expected to concentrate on Industrial cooperation through Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Agricultural modernization and food security. It also concentrated on science, technology, and digital connectivity projects. Adding with social sector investments, including healthcare and education.

The official launch by President Xi Jinping marks a new era of Pakistan-China partnership aimed at sustainable development and economic growth. According to officials, CPEC Phase-2 will bring in billions of dollars in investments and create thousands of jobs in Pakistan.

It is believed that the second phase will shift the project focus from infrastructure to industrialization and trade facilitation, ensuring long-term economic benefits. Experts also suggest that Pakistan’s exports, manufacturing sector, and agricultural productivity will see a significant boost once SEZs and modern farming projects are fully operational.

Xi Jinping’s visit highlights the strategic importance of the corridor, not only for Pakistan but also for regional trade and connectivity. CPEC connects China to the Arabian Sea through Gwadar Port, reducing China’s dependence on longer maritime routes.

This move is also seen as Beijing’s reaffirmation of its trust in Pakistan amid evolving regional geopolitics. Pakistan has assured China of comprehensive security arrangements for all CPEC-related projects.

Joint task forces and enhanced military cooperation are already in place to safeguard Chinese workers and investments. Xi Jinping’s Pakistan visit is expected to produce several bilateral agreements, particularly in green energy, industrial zones, and digital economy collaboration.

The official launch of CPEC Phase-2 will not only strengthen economic integration but also solidify the “Iron Brotherhood” between China and Pakistan.
